I spent years standing in front of a full closet every morning. I would try something on, adjust, turn, adjust again, never quite at ease with what I saw. It was never me. It was the clothes.
I never forgot that.
As I got older, I noticed the choices getting smaller and plainer, as if style was something women like me were supposed to leave behind.
So I started The Harbour Closet: a store inspired by the coast of New England, with one goal. To help women 50 and over feel like themselves again.
I choose a wardrobe for women who know exactly who they are. Women who are done being told what “suits their age.” Women who want something beautiful that fits their real life: comfortable enough for a long day, flattering enough to feel completely like themselves.
Every piece I choose has to pass one test. When you stand in front of the mirror, do you feel like yourself?
After much thought, I’ve decided it’s time for me to retire. For years, I’ve dreamed of taking a slow journey along the coast by boat — and I’ve finally decided that someday should be now.
